One of the latest additions to the UFC 144 fight card is the battle that is set to take place between Ryan Bader and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. This fight will be part of a line up that will hit the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on February 26th 2012. Jackson wanted a fight in Japan and he most definitely has one now.
Ryan Bader enters this fight with an MMA record of 13-2. Since losing to the current UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones back at UFC 126 in February of this year, he followed his first ever loss with yet another defeat at the hands of veteran Tito Ortiz. This was a real bad losing streak for Bader but he broke it at UFC 139 against Jason Brilz by scoring a first round knockout. This should give him the confidence boost he needs going into this fight against Rampage.
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's most recent fight was against the champ Jon Jones at UFC 135 where Rampage was defeated via Rear Naked Choke in the fourth round. Before losing this fight Jackson had defeated Lyoto Machida and Matt Hamill on his way to a title shot and won both fights through decision. This particular fight in Japan will suit Rampage nicely as he competed in the country many times during his time in the Pride Fighting Championships earlier in his career. If there is any turf advantage to be gained the Quinton Jackson will definitely have it.
This fight should be very entertaining, both men hit hard and need a victory. I cannot wait to see this fight and all of the other fights set to take place at UFC 144.

News has recently emerged that Mike Pyle and Paulo Thiago are likely to go head-to-head at UFC 142 on January 14th 2012 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The fight has not yet been officially announced but looks very likely to take place according to various sources.
Mike Pyle has an MMA record of 21-8-1 and enters this fight coming off a loss to Rory MacDonald at UFC 133. Mike lost the bout in the first round via TKO, this ended a three fight winning streak for Pyle who had scored victories over Jesse Lennox, John Hathaway and Ricardo Almeida. A victory over Thiago in Brazil would be massive for Pyle and would definitely move him up the welterweight ranks.
The Brazilian Paulo Thiago has a record of 14-3, he recently bounced back from a two fight losing streak by defeating David Mitchell at UFC 134 which also took place in Brazil. In the past Thiago has defeated the likes of Josh Koscheck, Jacob Volkmann and Mike Swick. Paulo will now look to build up some wins and get himself into the title race. If Thiago can feed off the home crown and secure a big win over Pyle then it will definitely put him in the right position for some really big fights within the division. This is sure to be a great fight.

Article first published as UFC 139 Preview: Dan Henderson Vs Mauricio "Shogun" Rua on Technorati.
This Saturday on November the 19th 2011 we will see Mauricio "Shogun" Rua take on Dan Henderson in a light-heavyweight battle fans will not want to miss! This fight will be the main event at UFC 139, which will take place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. Both of these men are experienced MMA fighters and legends of the sport, Henderson the former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion and Shogun was not long ago UFC light-heavyweight champion. This fight is very important for the division and is highly unlikely to disappoint fans and viewers.
Mauricio Rua enters this fight with an impressive MMA record of 20-5. A true veteran of the sport having competed in multiple organizations but most notably Pride and the UFC. Rua has faced and defeated the likes of Alistair Overeem, Chuck Liddell, Lyoto Machida and most recently Forrest Griffin at UFC 134 held in August of this year. The fight against Griffin was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil which is Rua's home country. Shogun scored the victory via knockout in the first round and looked in great shape. Mauricio lost the UFC light-heavyweight title back in March of this year against Jon Jones at UFC 128, he will now begin his hunt for another title shot and a victory over Dan Henderson would be huge for Shogun.
MMA legend and former Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson has an MMA record of 28-8. Like Shogun he is a very experienced and well rounded fighter. We last saw Henderson in action against Fedor Emelianenko at the "Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson" event held in July of this year. Dan won this fight via knockout in the first round shocking fans with the quick finish. In the past Dan has competed in Pride, UFC and many other MMA events/organizations. This return to the UFC comes at a time when many Strikeforce fighters seem to be considering a move over to the organization. Strikeforce was not long ago bought out by Zuffa who are owners of the UFC. Henderson was one of the first guys to make the switch and this first fight back is a big one.
Neither of these men are strangers to the big show and both are hungry for a title shot. I have a feeling that we could be set to see one of the best fights of the year, so don't not miss it!

News has emerged that K.J. Noons will take on Billy Evangelista at the "Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal" event set to take place on December 17th 2011 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. This lightweight battle will be part of the main card that airs on Showtime.
K.J. Noons enters this fight coming off two straight loses. The first of these two loses came against Nick Diaz when Noons challenged for the Strikeforce welterweight title in October 2010. Diaz won the fight via unanimous decision forcing Noons to go back to the drawing board. His most recent fight and loss was against Jorge Masvidal at the "Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum" event that took place in June of this year. K.J. Noons lost the decision again in this fight and now really needs to get himself back on track to show Strikeforce and the fans that he is still a top contender within the organisation. Prior to the recent string of loses Noons was on a six fight win streak so hopefully he can regain some of that same momentum.
Billy Evangelista faced his first MMA defeat in his last fight against Jorge Masvidal at the "Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson" event held in March of this year. Prior to this he had competed in 11 fights without losing, 10 of those fights were victories and one was a no contest. Evangelista has notable victories over the likes of Nam Phan, Jorge Gurgel and Waachiim Spiritwolf just to name a few. But in his most recent fight against Masvidal Billy was out classed by Jorge's striking and wrestling abilities. Evangelista will now look to solidify himself as one of the best in the division with a big victory over K.J. Noons. It will be great to see what happens.

The UFC have found a replacement to fight against Michael McDonald at UFC 139 and it comes in the form of newcomer Alex Soto. Johnny Eduardo was originally meant to be facing McDonald but had to drop out of the fight due to a shoulder injury. Soto will take Eduardo's place and become part of the stacked card sheduled for UFC 139 which will take place on November 19th 2011 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
The newcomer Alex Soto enters this fight undefeated with an MMA record of 6-0-1. In his most recent fight Soto took on Seiji Akao at the DEEP 54 event held in Tokyo, Japan. This fight resulted in a draw ending Alex's six fight winning streak. Alex now gets a shot at the big time against McDonald, it will be interesting to see how he performs on the big stage. I am sure he will be hoping to score a big win and impress the UFC.
Michael McDonald is definitely the more experienced fighter with an MMA record of 13-1, he is undefeated in the UFC so far having defeated both Edwin Figueroa and Chris Cariaso this year. In the Figueroa fight which was Michael's first UFC bout, both men earned "Fight Of The Night" honors from a battle in which we saw back and forth striking and submission attempts for most of the fight. McDonald scored the victory via unanimous decision getting himself off to a good start within the organisation. He will now look to continue his success by defeating Soto and moving up the bantamweight ranks.

Article first published as UFC Preview: Cain Velasquez vs Junior Dos Santos on Technorati.
This Saturday on November 12, 2011 we will see the UFC's first appearance on the Fox television network. The event will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. This will be a landmark card for the UFC as it will be their debut on the Fox network, they will only be airing the main event live in a one hour special. The rest of the card will be shown on Facebook and FoxSports.com. The main event will feature the UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez against Junior Dos Santos.
The champion Velasquez is undefeated with an MMA record of 9-0. His most recent victory in which he won the UFC heavyweight title was against former WWE star turned MMA fighter Brock Lesnar. The fight took place at UFC 121 in October of 2010, Cain won the fight via TKO in the first round earning himself "Knockout Of The Night" honors and the UFC belt. Before winning the title Cain Velasquez scored notable victories over top fighters Cheick Kongo, Ben Rothwell and Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira leading him to a well deserved shot at the heavyweight gold. This bout against Junior Dos Santos will be Cain's first title defense and what better stage for it to take place then the UFC's first appearance on Fox. There will be the pressure to retain the belt topped with the pressure to perform on the night, this is something Velasquez will be able to handle and it will be great to see what game plan he will use against Dos Santos.
Junior Dos Santos earned his title shot by defeating Shane Carwin in his last fight at UFC 131. Junior has an MMA record of 13-1 having defeated fighters like Roy Nelson, Stefan Struve and Gabriel Gonzaga in his rise to the top of the division. Earlier in the year Dos Santos and Brock Lesnar were the coaches on Season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter. The plan was for the two men to face each other in June but Lesnar got ill and had to pull out. This led to Shane Carwin replacing Brock in the number one contender bout which Junior Dos Santos won by unanimous decision. Both Junior and Cain have great striking and boxing so it will be interesting to see what direction the fight goes in. I think the chances of us seeing a knockout early in the fight are very high as both men are hard hitting and fast. I cannot wait to see this heavyweight title fight and the new format for the first UFC event airing on Fox. It should be an interesting weekend.

News has emerged that Luis Ramos will take on Matt Riddle at UFC 141 which will take place on December 30th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This welterweight bout has been added to a fight card that will be headlined by the fight between heavyweights Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem.
Brazilian Luis Ramos will look to bounce back from his loss against Erick Silva at UFC 134 which took place on his home soil in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is never nice to lose a debut fight within the UFC especially when prior to that fight Ramos was on a three fight winning streak. I am sure he will now look to make a statement with a big win over Riddle and begin his climb up the welterweight division.
Matt Riddle has not has a particularly good time recently with regards to scoring a win. He has lost his last two fights in the octagon which adds a bit of pressure to perform in this upcoming fight. Matt lost a decision to Sean Pierson at UFC 124 and lost again by decision to Lance Benoist at a UFC fight night event held in September of this year where the bout earned "Fight Of The Night". There is no doubt that Riddle is an exciting fighter, but this is a must win bout for Matt.

News has recently emerged that Sam stout will be taking on Thiago Tavares at UFC 142 which will be held in Brazil at Rio de Janeiro's HSBC Arena. This should be an exciting lightweight battle for the event which takes place on January 14th 2012.
Sam Stout enters this fight with an MMA record of 17-6-1. His most recent victory was against Yves Edwards at UFC 131 where he picked up "Knockout Of The Night" honors for a highlight reel first round KO. Sam was supposed to be fighting at UFC 137 but was unable to compete due to the death of his brother-in-law and well known MMA trainer Shawn Thompkins. This fight against Tavares will mark the return of Stout as he continues to progress up the ranks of the lightweight division.
Fighting for the second time in a row within his home country will be Brazilian Thiago Tavares. He enters this fight with a record of 16-4-1 and last competed at UFC 134 which was also held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Thiago defeated Spencer Fisher that night with a TKO in the second round. With up and down form within the UFC Thiago will now look to build up some big wins and a victory over Sam Stout would definitely be good for him.

I was kindly sent a sample of a dietary supplement named Light Force Greens by my friend James over at JMB Nutrition to trial and review. I was really excited to be trying this product out as it is something that many people had told me about. I have friends that have experimented with different greens and herbs by growing them at home and juicing them etc but this particular supplement contains many different leaves, grass and herbs but in a form that is very easy to process quickly and efficiently.
The supplement comes in a powdered form allowing you to mix it with water to make a refreshing drink. It is recommended that you take 1 scoop of the Light Force Greens with approx 400ml of water one/two times per day.
The supplement has many benefits but mainly helps to boost your energy levels and metabolism while also acting as an effective antioxidant. The product helps to rid your body of free radicals and also alkalize your body's pH levels which is very important for your body's immune system when trying to prevent diseases and illness. Because of the many health benefits associated with this supplement it is suitable for anyone looking to improve their general health and wellbeing.
I was sent a 4 day trial of this supplement. Here is my day-by-day story of how it went:
It is Monday which is the most important day of the week. I start my trial of the Light Force Greens today and can't wait. It is 7 am I start the day by putting 1 scoop of the powder into one of my shaker bottles that I would normally use for whey protein or other supplements of that nature. I fill the bottle up with 400ml of cold water and shake for approx 30-40 seconds, pop the cap off and knock back the drink. Instantly you can taste that it is not a smooth drink with no content, for example like drinking a glass of milk or water on it's own. Consistency wise it is more like drinking fresh orange juice that contains the orange bits. I like this as it feels very natural and fresh. The taste is very different to anything I have tried before leaving me unable to say if I liked it or not, it was just different. As a few hours passed and I carry on with my day as normal I start to get a heightened feeling of awareness and sharpness. I put this down to the additional and different energy that my body has just taken on board and continue to feel this way for the rest of the day. The evening comes and it is nearly time for me to hit the gym, on recommendation I take another helping of the supplement 30 mins before my workout. Normally I would down an energy drink but I replace this with the Lightforce Greens instead. Today I was working on chest and I have to say that I noticeably felt like I had a lot more energy when doing the last few reps of each set. Maybe I was thinking about it too much, trying to notice a difference but I honestly felt stronger and noticed I could get more out of my workout. This is only day one and I am seeing some benefits which is great. What will tomorrow hold...?
I take the greens in the morning again setting myself up for the day. This particular morning I feel high in energy very quickly, I feel very awake almost like I have had a coffee...but I haven't. One thing I start to do on this second day is ensuring that I have a pack on chewing gum on me at all times. In the morning a few hours after taking the greens, having brushed my teeth etc. I was doing some pretty grassy burps...not nice. My evening gym session today was very productive. I did some weight training on my arms and also did some cardio. Now the most notable thing about my gym session today was that normally after doing 20-30 mins on the treadmill I fell very tired and puffed out etc. But today I felt like I had a lot more endurance and the energy to carry on, almost like my body wanted to push itself. Now sometimes I do get this feeling anyway. I guess some days you just have more energy then others. But rather then put it down to coincidence I have to take into consideration the change I have introduced to my diet. I strongly feel that the supplement was behind this extra energy and it felt good.
It is the third day of my trial and I am feeling great. I took my helping of the Light Force Greens in the morning and feel fresh and energized throughout the day. This feeling is starting to become normal which is a massive benefit to my everyday well being. I like the feeling and see no reason to want to stop it, just by taking a healthy and natural supplement made from various types of organic herbs, grasses and leaves I can enhance my general energy levels. I have to say I am very impressed. Today is a rest day for me so I do not take a second helping today and I do not go to the gym so nothing extra to report on that front.
It is day four of my trial meaning it is the last day. As each day has gone by the taste of the greens drink has become better. It is not a taste I can say I really enjoy a lot but as I am getting used to it I notice a slightly sweet taste hidden within the drink. I think the fact that this product tastes the way it does almost compliments it, at the end of the day you are drinking greens...they are not meant to taste like strawberries and cream...lol. I take my morning drink and go through most of my day with a spring in my step born from the new found energy that I now have. It reaches the evening and take my second helping again 30 mins before I begin my session allowing enough time for the greens to get into my bloodstream. Today we will be working on the back. This is an area of the body I find drains a lot of energy so I hope the greens can help and they do. I almost feel like Popeye after he has taken his spinach...lol. I am not saying this is a miracle product but it definitely gives you additional natural energy that can really boost the effectiveness of your workouts. I feel very strong while doing my dead-lifts and still have enough energy reserved to effectively complete the rest of my workout with maximum output. A great end to the trial and a very interesting four days!
Overall looking back at the four day trial I did with the Light Force Greens it was very effective as a supplement. I definitely felt that I had more energy making me feel a lot better and much more healthy in general. I would much rather take this natural product now instead of some other products I would normally use like energy drinks/sweets to boost my energy. The ingredients within the product provide so many additional benefits to your health that it would seem silly not to have this product in your cupboard. As this was only a four day trial I cannot comment on any of the long term health benefits of the product but from the small amount of time I was taking the supplement I can only view those benefits as an added bonus. I definitely want to get some more of this product and see how it goes. To sum it up, if you are looking for a natural and organic way to boost your energy, health and metabolism Light Force Greens is the product to do this for you. I was very impressed with the results and would recommend trying this product for yourself.
Thanks again to James Baker for giving me the chance to try out the Light Force Greens.

Today UFC 138 takes place in the LG Arena in Birmingham, England. We will see Chris "The Crippler" Leben take on Mark "The Pilipino Wrecking Machine" Munoz in a 5 round middleweight battle. As the event is in the UK I will be there personally to se the card unfold, I love seeing live UFC action and cannot wait to see what happens. I will be doing live tweets from the event so make sure you get involved - http://twitter.com/TheMMAReview
Chris Leben enters this fight with an MMA record of 22-7. Leben is very experienced and always puts on exciting and memorable performances. His last fight was against MMA veteran Wanderlei Silva at UFC 132, Chris won the fight in spectacular fashion with a KO in the first round. This was a great way to bounce back from his loss against Brian Stann at UFC 125 previously. This fight with Munoz today will really help Chris to move close to a title shot if he can score the victory.
Top class wrestler and middleweight stand-out Mark Munoz (11-2) is currently on a three fight winning streak, with victories against Aaron Simpson, C.B. Dollaway and most recently against BJJ specialist Demian Maia. He his personally one of my favourite up and coming fighters and is on a good run at the moment. Munoz has great wrestling and also packs knockout power in his hands, so if this turns into a brawl which would really suit Leben then we know that Munoz will be able to hold his own.
I believe that technically Munoz can win this fight, but if he gets drawn into a dog fight with Leben then he could lose his advantage. Chris Leben could score the knockout at any given moment making the fight very unpredictable. We will have to wait and see!
MAIN CARD (Spike TV)
- Chris Leben vs. Mark Munoz
- Renan Barao vs. Brad Pickett
- Papy Abedi vs. Thiago Alves
- Terry Etim vs. Edward Faaloloto
- Cyrille Diabate vs. Anthony Perosh
PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook)
