Matt Brown will replace Krauss at UFC 138 and fight John Hathaway!

Hi guys,

It was announced earlier this week that German fighter Pascal Krauss would not be able to compete against UK fighter John Hathaway at UFC 138 due to a shoulder injury. A replacement for Krauss has come in the form of welterweight contender Matt Brown, he will now step in and go to war with John Hathaway at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England on November 5th 2011. In his last fight at UFC on Versus 4 Matt Brown found himself fighting for employment within the UFC against John "Doomsday" Howard. Brown came out with the win and ended his three fight losing streak via unanimous decision. Matt will look to build up momentum within the welterweight division with a big win over Hathaway who has only suffered one loss in his MMA career. John Hathaway is no easy opponent and enters the fight with an MMA record of 15-1-0. In October of last year at UFC 120 John faced his only career loss so far to Mike Pyle. He has most recently bounced back from that loss with a decision victory over Kris McCray at UFC Fight Night 24: Nogueira vs. Davis. I think this fight makes for a good match up and I am looking forward to it.

Thanks,

Jay Cee.

Eddie Yagin is likely to face Junior Assuncao at UFC 135!

Hi guys,

News has recently emerged that MMA fighter Eddie Yagin is likely to face Junior Assuncao at UFC 135 which will take place at the Pepsi Center in Denver on September 24th 2011. The Alliance MMA fighter Eddie Yagin will enter the UFC octagon for the first time and will be looking to make a name for himself. Eddie has won seven out of his last nine fights and holds a MMA record of 15-4-1. Assuncao who will face Yagin has actually competed within the UFC before. He had three fights in the organisation back in 2006/2007 but gained only one victory against David Lee. His other two fights were losses to Nate Diaz and Kurt Pellegrino. Since then Junior has been stacking up the victories and is currently on a six fight win streak. He will definitely look to impress the fans as he gets another shot at the UFC! Should be a great fight!

Thanks,

Jay Cee.

Donald Cerrone will fight instead of Sam Stout at UFC 137 against Dennis Siver!

Hi guys,

Sam Stout was set to face Dennis Siver at UFC 137 on October 29th in Las Vegas. But due to reasons unknown at this point he has withdrawn from the event. Stout recently lost his brother-in-law and trainer Shawn Tompkins who died earlier this month, but we do not yet know if this is the reason for him choosing not to compete at the event. As a result of Sam's withdrawal Donald Cerrone has stepped up to take his place. Cerrone has won his last five fights, two of them in the WEC and the most recent three victories were scored inside the UFC octagon. Donald has picked up three bonuses out of those five fights. Two were "Fight Of The Night" one against Jamie Varner in the WEC and one against Paul Kelly at UFC 126. His most recent payout was earned against Charles Oliveira for "Knockout Of The Night" at the Hardy Vs Lytle UFC on Versus event. Cerrone will take on Dennis Siver who is currently on a four fight win streak. Siver is also no stranger to bonus money having picked up "Fight Of The Night", "Knockout Of The Night" and "Submission Of The Night" awards while in the UFC. This is sure to be a great fight and I cannot think of any better replacement then Donald Cerrone.

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Keith Jardine is set for a return to action this December for Strikeforce!

Hi guys,

Rumours suggest that Keith "The Dean Of Mean" Jardine will be returning to action in December for Strikeforce. Jardine is expected to be making his return at middleweight and has enlisted the services of nutritionist Mike Dolce to help with the weight cut. As many of you will be aware Keith spent a long time in the UFC and holds victories over the likes of Brandon Vera, Forrest Griffin and Chuck Liddell. After a string of losses Jardine was released by the UFC and most recently his first fight with Strikeforce resulted in a draw with Gegard Mousasi. Keith will look to re-ignite his MMA career with a victory when he returns and it will be interesting to see how he performs.

Thanks,

Jay Cee.

UFC 134 Preview - Anderson Silva Vs Yushin Okami

Hi guys!

UFC 134 takes place tonight at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The main event will be a battle between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami for the UFC Middleweight Championship. I have no doubts that this is going to be a great fight. The challenger Yushin Okami is considered to be one of Japan's most successful fighters and enters this fight on a three fight win streak. As part of this streak he has defeated Lucio Linhares, Mark Munoz and Nate Marquardt. He is currently at his peak and will be hungry to get his hands on the title. The champion silva is also at his peak with a 14 fight win streak and a reputation for being the best MMA fighter on the planet. He is a very dominant force within the UFC and it is very hard to see him losing his Middleweight championship anytime soon, but this is the UFC and anything can happen! He won his last two fights in spectacular fashion with a last minute triangle submission victory over Chael Sonnen, who dominated the majority of the fight and a very unique first round knockout over Vitor Belfort with a front kick. I have to go for Silva in this fight but Yushin is very skilled and will give his all to obtain the belt. Please do not miss this event guys, it will be a great night of fights!

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Stephan Bonnar is set to face Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 139!

Hi guys,

Reports have revealed that Stephan Bonnar will be facing Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 139 which is set to take place on November 19th 2011 in San Jose, CA. Bonnar will enter the fight with two consecutive wins under his belt. Stephan has won his last two fights, the most recent was against Igor Pokrajac at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale and the other was against Krzysztof Soszynski at UFC 116 which earned "fight of the night" honors. Bonnar will now look to pick up his third win in a row. His opponent on the night will be Kyle Kingsbury who has won his last four fights in a row, two of which earned "fight of the night". He defeated Fabio Maldonado in his last fight and in the fight before that he defeated Ricardo Romero at UFC 126 by TKO within 21 seconds of the first round. I have a feeling that the fight between these two men at UFC 139 could be a likely contender for "fight of the night" so make sure you don't miss it!

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Josh Neer vs Keith Wisniewski planned for UFC on Versus 6!

Hi guys,

News has emerged that a fight between Josh Neer and Keith Wisniewski has been targeted to take place on October 1st 2011 at the UFC On Versus 6 event. Neer is no stranger to the UFC having fought within the organization many different times over the past 6-7 years. He is now back with a four-fight deal and will want to return with a bang! Josh is a very experienced fighter and holds wins over the likes of Joe Stevenson, TJ Waldburger, Melvin Guillard and Mac Danzig. The man who he will face is Keith Wisniewski who is a very experienced MMA fighter himself. He was last seen in the UFC back in November of 2005 when he unfortunately lost a fight to Nick Thompson at UFC 56. Keith has had ten fights since then in various different organizations and is currently on a six fight win streak. He is now given an opportunity to make his mark in the UFC with a victory over Josh Neer. This should be a great fight between two very experienced fighters. I can't wait!

Thanks Guys,

Jay Cee.

Interview with BAMMA ring girl Georgia Graham!

Check out my interview with BAMMA ring girl Georgia Graham.....

Jay Cee: "Hi Georgie, Hope you are well. I am aware you have been modeling for a few years now. Can you tell me a bit about what you did before becoming a Bamma girl? and how you got into being a ring girl?"

Georgia: "Hey, hope you are well too! Thanks for interviewing me! I've always worked as a promotions model since about the age of 18 doing mainly motor-sport. It was right place, right time when Bamma spotted my pictures on a website from working at a red carpet event promoting an energy drink."

Jay Cee: "What is your favorite part about being a ring girl?"

Georgia: "That's a tough question as I love all aspects of my job! I love getting to be at all the fights watching them as well as working at them! I generally just enjoy working for Bamma, they're a really nice bunch of people to work for."

Jay Cee: "What is your most memorable moment at a BAMMA event? and why?"

Georgia: "Probably when Tom "Kong" Watson beat Ninja as the atmosphere in the arena was just amazing!! I feel very lucky to have walking on the champion that is Mr Watson, along with his funny dance moves that I really didn't expect!"

Jay Cee: "I have spoken to a lot of different ring girls and I am always surprised by how many are genuine fans of MMA. Are you an MMA fan yourself? or is it more of a job to you?"

Georgia: "I am a genuine fan yes, I love MMA so much so I train in it myself doing two sessions a week with a trainer. Nothing beats sitting ring side watching a fight!"

Jay Cee: "Who is your favorite MMA fighter? and why?"

Georgia: "Too many to choose from! I respect every MMA fighter as the sport is a tough one, training in it has taught me that! Mostly all MMA fighters I have met too are really lovely guys so I couldn't say just one!"

Jay Cee: "What advice or tips you would give to any young women looking to get into becoming a ring girl or modeling?"

Georgia: "That it's not easy! It took me 2/3 years to get into such a brilliant job, it's not something that will be handed to you, you have to work and work hard for it! I always say follow your heart though, stay determined and don't let anyone try shatter your dreams or bring you down! Also, always smile, be polite and remember those who help you out."

Jay Cee: "Last question.....What are your goals/plans for the future?"

Georgia: "To make it bigger than Arianny - a girl can dream! I just plan to keep working hard, keep smiling and enjoying life! I'm a very spontaneous person so I never usually have a set plan, I go with the flow and have fun!"

Jay Cee: "Well that's it Georgia, thanks for taking part in the interview. Good luck for the future!"

The End

Josh Koscheck will return to action in the UFC in November!

Hi guys,

News has emerged that UFC fighter Josh Koscheck will finally be returning to the Octagon on November 19th 2011. He made the announcement via his twitter page: Click here - Josh has not been in action since his match against GSP for the welterweight title. In that match he suffered a broken orbital bone which has left him out of action for nearky a year. It has not yet been announced who Koscheck will face when he makes his return but I will let you know as soon as I hear anything. It will be great to see Josh back in action. It is likely he will make his return at middleweight so it will be interesting to see how he does in this new weight class.

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Jake Shields vs Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night 25!

Hi guys,

UFC Fight Night 25 will take place on September 17th 2011. The main event is going to be Jake Shields vs Jake Ellenberger. This is a fight I am really looking forward to as Ellenberger is currently on great form and enters the bout on a four fight winning streak. He has won his last four UFC fights against Mike Pyle, John Howard, Carlos Rocha and Sean Pierson who was his latest win at UFC 129. Ellenberger is a well rounded fighter much like Shields so this is a very good match up. Jake Shields enters this fight coming off of a loss to the welterweight champion Georges St Pierre. Before losing this fight Jake Shields had won his last 15 fights in a row which is an amazing run. Shields will want to get back on track with a big will over Ellenberger which will put him back on the title trail. It is set to be a great main event and a fantastic night of fights.

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Interview with Bellator Heavyweight Neil "Goliath" Grove!

Check out my interview with Bellator star Neil Grove. Enjoy!....

Jay Cee: "Hi Neil, If I am correct you started your pro MMA career back in 2006 for the UKMMAC promotion. Can you tell us a bit about how you first got into MMA? and what you did before starting your MMA career?"

Neil Grove: "Well I started training with Sensei Gavin Mulholland in 2000, in Goju RYU Karate. But if you asked him directly, he isn't a fan of the word karate! Our style isn't 'watered' down and in particular in his training techniques, we had some hard sparring sessions! I became a black belt in July 2005 and because of the 'safe' training environment, felt i needed to test my ability elsewhere... everybody wanted me to compete at semi-pro or amateur 1st, but to me that wasn't going to test my ability completely. So i had my 1st pro mma bout, just over one month shy of my 36th birthday, in November 2006!"

Jay Cee: "Your last fight was against Zak Jensen at Bellator 47 in Canada. You got the victory with a first round TKO. Tell me how that felt? and what is next for you in the Bellator Fighting Championships?"

Neil Grove: "It is always nerve wrecking taking a long time out between fights! I had an injury otherwise I would have fought him in May, and it was just as well I postponed it! It felt good! He was tough and brought his best to the table! I am now in the Heavyweight tournament! My 1st bout is the 1st October!"

Jay Cee: "Like myself you are from the UK. Tell me your thoughts on the MMA scene over here in the UK? and what you think we need to do to grow the sports popularity even more?"

Neil Grove: "It's growing everywhere! Some exciting new fighters are emerging from the UK and I for one hope they keep doing well!!! We need more 'professional' shows like BAMMA... No comedians or actors presenting or fighting, it's not a soap opera and it's not about the dancing girls either... They are definitely leading as far as I'm concerned when it comes to production, and matchmaking! Loads of local and international MMA stars are competing on their shows, and then there is the UFC too. I hope to see Bellator have a few shows in England too one day."

Jay Cee: "What gym do you train at? and what is your favorite part of training?"

Neil Grove: "When I'm in the UK, Semtex Gym in Swanley Kent with my striking coach Steve Gladstone and Excel Health & Performance with my Strength & Conditioning Coach, Craig Maddox. When I'm in Orange County, CA, It's at Reign Training Center with Mark Munoz and my striking coach is at Huntington Beach Ultimate Training Center, Ben Moreland! My favorite part is the wrestling/ MMA with Mark Munoz! Fabricio Werdum, Shogan Rua, Mahem Miller, Krzysztof Soszynski, Brett Cooper. Raphael Davis, Jay Silva, Jimmy Ambriz, Thomas Bunburry, Emanuel Newton, Joseph Henle, Manny Lara, Joe Ellenberger, Satoshi Ishii, and ALL the other guys i forget to mention, make every training session there worth while! I'm learning something new everyday and only have these guys to thank!"

Jay Cee: "Who is your favorite MMA fighter past or present? And why?"

Neil Grove: "George Saint Pierre. He comes from a Traditional Martial Arts back ground like me. He is also down to earth, unlike some of the new champions there who have become so arrogant and cocky... Always remember the 'little guys' who supported you when you were nothing, remember that when you win or make it big."

Jay Cee: "When the day finally comes that you decide to hang up your gloves, what do you think you will do next? Will you still be involved with MMA? Maybe coaching?"

Neil Grove: "For sure! MMA came a bit late in life to me, but I will see it through one way or the other when I retire. I have had some amazing training from Sean Wheelock, Bellator's 'play-by-play' commentator in January and February this year. It is something I would love to pursue! I think the 'funny foreign accent' and the different outlook on fights as being predominantly a striker and 'finisher' of fights, would bring something refreshing to a show! And coaching is a passion too, but not while I'm fighting."

Jay Cee: "Ok, great! Thanks for taking part in this interview Neil. I really do appreciate it mate and good luck in the Heavyweight tournament!"

The End

I am sure you enjoyed that guys. Keep an eye out for UK fighter Neil Grove.
Be sure to check out Neil Grove on Twitter: twitter.com/goliathgrove

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Dustin Poirier will face Pablo Garza at the UFC's first event on FOX!

Hi guys,

News has recently emerged that the UFC's first event to be aired on FOX will take place on November 12th 2011 in Anaheim. The first fight to be announced is a featherweight battle between Dustin Poirier and Pablo Garza. The last fight that Garza was involved in was against Fredson Paixao at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale event. Pablo won the fight by knockout as a result of landing a flying knee. Garza was one of the fighters who moved over to the UFC from the WEC like his opponent Dustin. Pablo has won his 2 fights in the UFC and will look to carry on with winning ways. Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier is a very skilled fighter who has also seen success since being integrated into the UFC from the WEC. He has won his last three frights against Jason Young, Josh Grispi and Zach Micklewright, so this definitely makes for a very even match in terms of stats. We will see on the night who comes out on top and moves one step higher in the featherweight division.

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

The UFC goes into business with media giant FOX!

Hi Guys,

Some major news has emerged today readers. The FOX Sports Media Group who are the top television network in the US have come to a multi-year agreement with Zuffa who own the UFC. This is major news for the promotion and the sport. The UFC can finally align itself alongside all of the other major sporting organizations in the industry. This is the moment that allows our sport to move itself onto the next level of global recognition. Everything about it makes sense, the worlds biggest Mixed Martial Arts promotion/organization teaming up with one of the world biggest and most powerful television networks. I think this is great news for the industry and our sport, so well done to Dana White and the Fertitta's. Reports suggest that there will be some positive changes and additions to some things. There will be a new set of shows introduced for live events. We will now have a pre-fight, countdown and post fight shows for UFC events and they plan to introduce some new UFC shows/series and weigh in specials. This is only a small portion of all the things planned but basically the UFC now has the platform on which it can expand to the highest level of any sport on the planet and this in my opinion is great news for our industry.

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Martin Kampmann will face Rick Story at UFC 139!

Hi guys,

It has emerged that welterweight fighters Martin Kampmann and Rick Story will face each other at UFC 139 on November the 19th 2011. This fight will be on the same night that we see Heavyweight contender Junior Dos Santos take on Cain Velasquez for the heavyweight gold. Now as many of you will be aware Rick Story had been on a great run in the UFC right up until his last fight against Charlie Brenneman at UFC on Versus 4. The fight was a replacement match as Nate Marquardt was unable to compete that night. To the surprise of many fans Charlie scored a major upset victory over Story and put a stop to the contenders winning streak. Rick will now look to get back to winning ways with a big win over Martin Kampmann. Both of these men are very exciting and it is very hard to work out who will come out on top. Kampmann is also coming off a loss to Diego Sanchez in which he came out the loser in a fight which went to the judges. We will have to wait and see what happens at UFC 139, I am sure these two men will put on a great fight!

Thanks Guys,

Jay Cee.

UFC on Versus 5 Analysis: Chris Lytle, Donald Cerrone & Ben Henderson were all victorious!

Hi guys,

I hope you watched UFC on Versus 5 because if you didn't then you missed out on a great night of MMA fights. There were some real technical matches and also the main event which was simply a stand up war between Dan Hardy and Chris Lytle. That fight ended in a submission victory for Lytle which marked the end of his career in MMA, Chris has decided to leave the sport after many years of action to focus on his family. Two significant victories that are worth pointing out from the night are Donald Cerrone over Charles Oliveira and Ben Henderson over Jim Miller. I will start with Cerrone who basically showed his strong striking power and ability against Oliveira. There has been a lot of hype over the Brazilian fighter but Donald showed us that there is a lot more to MMA then just hype. The fight ended with Charles Oliveira on the ground taking a barrage of punches to the head which lead to referee stopping the fight. This is "the cowboy's" 5th straight MMA victory and he is now a concrete top contender in the Lightweight division. The other fight I have to mention was between Jim Miller and Ben Henderson. Wow! this fight was probably my favorite of the night. Henderson really showcased his skills and showed how much of a well rounded MMA fighter he is. Ben is a former WEC champion and is on a warpath to get UFC gold around his waist. Before the fight took place I think alot of people thought that Jim Miller would just carry on his winning streak and you can't blame them, before the fight Miller had a 7 fight win streak - which is massive! On the night Henderson showed that when it is your night to shine win streaks and past victories can mean nothing. Miller never really got himself involved in the fight. Ben basically dominated with superior and damaging striking and a high level ground game which saw him attempt and also evade submission attempts. This all resulted in a very decisive victory for Ben Henderson who is easily becoming one of my favorite fighters in the octagon. Overall a great night of action and something for everyone. Technical battles, stand-up wars....we had it all! Well done again UFC!

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Joseph Benavidez Vs Eddie Wineland at UFC on Versus 5!

Hi guys,

Another exciting fight that is set for tonight at the Bradley Center will be between Bantamweight contender Joseph Benavidez and former WEC champ Eddie Wineland. Benavidez is currently in good form with two straight victories over Wagnney Fabiano and Ian Loveland. He will look to continue winning fights and his next test will definitely not be simple. Eddie Wineland faced his most recent defeat to Urijah Faber in a battle which went the distance. This loss broke a four fight winning streak for Eddie and he will now look to put himself back in the picture with a win over Benavidez. This Bantamweight battle is sure to be very interesting for the fans as part of a card that is unlikely to disappoint.

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Cerrone Vs Oliveira at UFC On Versus 5!

Hi guys,

We are set for what should be an amazing lightweight bout between Donald Cerrone and Charles Oliveira at UFC on Versus 5. Cerrone is a very skilled fighter that comes out of the Greg Jackson camp. We last saw the "Cowboy" in action against Vagner Rocha at UFC 131 in which Donald picked up the decision victory in a fight which lacked excitement. This victory was the fourth in a row for cerrone and he will look to make a win streak of five against Oliveira. Charles is very skilled and will not make this an easy fight for Cerrone. Oliveira is an exciting and aggressive fighter and both men are very familiar with earning "fight of the night". I think we are set for an all out war! This is one of the fights I am looking forward to most on the card.

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

MMA Fight Pit: Genesis - The new MMA promotions first event!

Hi guys,

New promotion "MMA Fight Pit" will hold it's first event this weekend named "Genesis" on Saturday the 13th Of August. The main event on the night will be a light heavyweight battle between Houston Alexander and Razak Al-Hassan. Both of these guys are former UFC fighters who have seen success since leaving the organization. The fight should be exciting and a great watch for MMA lovers as Alexander will be looking to get the knockout and Al-Hassan will certainly try for the sub. This fight will be a simple case of stand up vs ground game, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Another cool fight on the card is the bout between MMA contenders Coty Wheeler and Jens Pulver. This featherweight bout should be explosive and each fighter will look to make their mark. To sum the whole event up it is a card stacked with top talent and old UFC faces. Every fighter on the card will be trying to make sure we know that they are still around and on top of their game. It will definitely be worth a watch.

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Interview with ring girl/model Alex Boldry!

Hello Readers,

Check out my interview with UK ring girl Alex Boldry. Enjoy.....

Jay Cee: "I will start by asking how you first got into being a ring girl? I know you are also a model, was the ring girl thing something that came from that?"

Alex Boldry: "I had done a bit of modeling work and someone saw some of my pictures and asked me to be a ring girl at the shock n awe show. I knew nothing about cage fighting and was a bit shocked when I watched the first few fights as they were really hurting each other! It was not like the wrestling I used to watch when I was at school! After a while I got into it and really enjoyed it. Now that I have learn't more about it, watching things like UFC and Strikeforce I can see which submissions they are going for and can judge who's won the round.

Jay Cee : "You have done work with the Shock 'n' Awe promotion here in the UK and you have done some work with UCMMA, what is your favorite thing about being a ring girl (apart from getting a ringside seat...lol) and why?"

Alex Boldry: "I love the buzz of the crowd, there's always a brilliant atmosphere. I'm a total exhibitionist so love walking around half naked! Being ring girl I get right in where the action is, even Stepping over the blood at the end of the round it's all good fun and yes of course we get the best seats!!"

Jay Cee: "I am aware that on top of actually being a ring girl you are a fan of MMA, who is your favorite fighter? and what is it that you most like about Mixed Martial Arts?"

Alex Boldry: "GSP!! I just plain love him. I think BJJ is an amazing skill, to see the fighters rolling and then pulling out an arm bar from nowhere it really is an art in itself. It's the ultimate primitive sport which takes total commitment, I have a lot of respect for the guys that get in the cage."

Jay Cee: "What is your ultimate goal within the industry? Would you one day like to be an octagon girl sitting next to Arianny and Chandella at a UFC event?"

Alex Boldry: "UFC is obviously the big dream! Arianny is one of my idols, she has it all really. For now I'm just seeing where it takes me. Shock n awe is so much fun to work for, the guys that run it Brian and Gareth are brilliant, we are very well looked after. It's getting bigger each time and they are producing some amazing fighters. I'd be happy to see them get into the UFC and some of them are heading that way."

Jay Cee: "Last question now Alex....What advice would you give to all the women out there who are interested in becoming a model or a ring girl?"

Alex Boldry: "Go for it! don't give up. You have to be pretty hard in this industry, networking is the key and as with everything it's not what you know it's who you know!! At shows always smile! There will be the one picture that catches you not smiling and you look like a right miserable bitch!! Haha."

Jay Cee: "Ok, great. Well thanks for the interview Alex and best of luck for the future!"

The End

I hope you enjoyed that guys. You can find out more about Alex Boldry by visiting these sites:

Dan Hardy Vs Chris Lytle at UFC On Versus 5!

Hi guys,

UFC On Versus 5 takes place this coming Sunday (14th Of August 2011) and the main event of the evening will be between UK fighter Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy and veteran Chris "Light's Out" Lytle. There is a lot at steak in this fight and we should be set to see a good brawl between fighters who are both strong in their stand-up abilities and like to fight with their fists. Dan Hardy is known for being an exciting fighter and character in the UFC, but has unfortunately hit a bad string of losses which obviously cannot continue. It is crunch time for Dan and he really needs to pick up a win against Chris Lytle to keep his job. Hardy's losing streak begun when he lost a title fight with GSP for the welterweight title in which he was overpowered on the ground. Since then he has suffered losses to Carlos Condit and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson. Despite Dan's bad luck recently he is a great fighter with an unmistakable identity within the octagon. Being from the UK myself I really wish him the best of luck and I would love to see him continue to compete within the UFC for a lot longer. Hardy's opponent Chris Lytle is a veteran of the octagon and has been fighting in the UFC for a long time. Chris's career has been up and down with wins and losses but at this current time he is also not doing to well. A win would definitely show that he has still got what it takes to compete with the best in his division. He is known for possessing high skills in boxing and has a reputation as a brawler. The ingredients and attributes of these two men set this fight to be a stand-up war and these two men will definitely be up for it on Sunday night. Make sure you tune in to this one people!

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Tom "Kong" Watson out of BAMMA 7 with Injury!

Hi guys,

Reports have emerged that Tom "Kong" Watson the BAMMA Middleweight champion has had to drop out of his main event fight against Frank Trigg due to a back injury. The fight was set to take place at BAMMA 7 but has now been changed in light of what has happened. Frank Trigg will now take on Jim Wallhead in a non-title fight at The National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England. Wallhead was last seen competing at the Bellator Welterweight tournament in which he lost in the first round of the event. Before that Jim was on a great winning streak and he will now look to get back on track with a win over Frank Trigg. MMA veteran trigg is doing okay at the moment and will look to keep on building up momentum with a win over Jim Wallhead. It is not the main event we had planned for, but it should still be a great fight!

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Clothing Review: Clinch Gear Team Quest Sublimated Performance MMA Shorts

Hi guys,

I hope you are all well. This post is a review about some Clinch MMA shorts I was recently sent by my friends over at MMAHQ.com - I know alot of you readers train in MMA and some of you may even be fighters or people looking to get into MMA training. So I thought it would be a good idea to do a review on some shorts made by one of the top brands in the industry.

Here is a snap of the shorts:

These are the "Clinch Gear Team Quest Sublimated Performance MMA Shorts" I was sent. I will start by saying they are really great quality and look excellent. They are a fantastic maroon colour with gold trim. The two colours go great together and the Team Quest and Clinch gear logos really compliment the shorts to make for an interesting design which is definitely not boring. In terms of the quality the shorts are made with microfibers which make for a comfortable wear, this is obviously very important when training for long periods of time and working on your ground game. The shorts are really light, this allows for great freedom of movement and gives you more time to concentrate on your BJJ techniques rather then how uncomfortable your shorts are. Overall this is a great product and I would definitely spend my hard earned money on these quality MMA shorts. I hope you liked the review guys!

A big thanks to MMAHQ for providing the shorts for this review. You can check them out and get some great deals on MMA gear by Visiting: www.mmahq.com

I would also like to give a shout out to Clinch Gear who made the shorts: http://www.clinchgear.com/

Brian Ebersole Scores again at UFC 133!

Hi Guys,
MMA veteran Brian Ebersole gained his second UFC Victory against Dennis Hallman at UFC 133. Ebersole has had 62 MMA fights during his career making him a veteran at the age of only 30. Brian had his first fight in the organisation at UFC 127 which took place at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. He defeated Chris Lytle in a bout which earned "Fight Of The Night" and has now defeated a second experienced UFC fighter. This latest victory in which Brian earned a "getting those horrifying shorts off TV as soon as possible" bonus (lol) has solidified his presence in the UFC and we are sure to see many more great fights from Brian Ebersole. I will try to let you know as soon as I find out who his next opponent will be, should be interesting!

Who wins at UFC 133 tonight? Tito Ortiz or Rashad Evans?

Hi guys,

UFC 133 is only hours away now and I can't wait! Rashad Evans will return to the octagon after over a year off, and many of us are anxious to see how he will perform. It sounds like both fighters have been working really hard in the gym for this fight which will see one of them take a step closer to a title shot. These two men faced each other in the past at UFC 73 which saw the fight end in a draw. It was a very close fight then and I am sure it will be very close tonight. It will be interesting to see how much better each one of these men have become and what aspects of their game they have worked on and improved specifically for this fight. Everything will go down tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is set to be a great night of fights, so don't miss out people.

I will be doing live tweets tonight during UFC 133, so to keep up with what's going on or to just get involved with the banter you can check me out at: http://twitter.com/TheMMAReview

Interview with UFC star Francisco Rivera!

Picture taken from mma-core.com via google images.

Hello readers,

Check out my interview with UFC star Francisco Rivera. Enjoy....

Jay Cee: "Hi Cisco, I will start by asking how you first got involved with the WEC/UFC?"

Francisco Rivera: "Thanks Jay, Well after a few local fights and four knockouts in under a minute I think I caught Zuffa's attention. I was always an exciting fighter and in every fight you would see something special. Then one day I got the call from the WEC and I can tell you it was like a dream come true."

Jay Cee: "You are still young in age and also in the sport of MMA. What are your goals and what do you hope to achieve from your career in MMA?"

Francisco Rivera: "My goal is to be one of the top fighters out there. I want to be at the top one day and to achieve that I have to work hard and train hard every single day. It's my job, my life and I love it! I will never stop or quit loving this sport."

Jay Cee: "Your last fight in the UFC was against Reuben Duran. What are your thoughts on that fight and when can we next expect to see you in action within the UFC?"

Francisco Rivera: "My fight against Reuben was tough. I thought I was winning the fight until I broke my hand in the second round with an overhand right. I kept battling through it but fighting with one hands sucks. My next fight will be soon. I am getting my hand stronger and having the correct therapy so I should be back in no time."

Jay Cee: "What fight camp/gym do you train with? and what is your favorite part of training?"

Francisco Rivera: "I train with three different teams. I train at United Mixed Martial Arts in La Miranda, CA. I also train at All In MMA with Eddie Cha in my home town Buena Park and lastly I train at Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW) in Fullerton, CA. My favorite part of training is learning the fight game. There is so much to learn and there are always new submissions and techniques. In this sport there are always new fighters doing something different. I'm always watching fighters fight, I take it all in and try it during training to see if I can use it. If it works for me then it will make my game a lot stronger, getting better is a must."

Jay Cee: "Who is your favorite MMA fighter currently competing? And what is your favorite MMA/UFC fight of all time?"

Francisco Rivera: "My favorite fighter right now would have to be Tito Ortiz. He has been in the game for years now and is one of the humblest and nicest dudes ever. He currently has the longest fight streak in the octagon, that's crazy!...Blessed!....Oh, and one of my sponsors (Punishment)...lol. One of the best fights that I have watched and loved in the UFC was the recent Pat Barry (what up to my boy Pat!) Vs Cheick Kongo fight, Oh My god that was so sick! It shows that anything can happen in a fight and you should never give up until the referee stops it...Lol...that is gonna be top 3 for a long time in the UFC."

Jay Cee: "Ok, great. Thanks for the interview Cisco. It has been good getting to know more about you and I am sure the readers will really enjoy it!"

Francisco Rivera: "Thanks for the interview Jay Cee, much appreciated."

The End

I hope you enjoyed that people. Make sure you keep an eye out for Francisco as he will be back in the UFC soon.

Be sure to check Francisco Rivera out on Twitter: http://twitter.com/CiscoRiveraUFC

Thanks guys!

Tom Watson Vs Frank Trigg at BAMMA 7

Hi guys,
On September 10, 2011 BAMMA Middleweight Champion Tom Watson will take on UFC veteran Frank Trigg. The event is set to take place in Birmingham, England and is sure to be non-stop action. Champion Tom “Kong” Watson has seen nothing but success since he has been in BAMMA beating the likes of Alex Reid and Murilo “Ninja” Rua. Many see this fight against Frank Trigg as Watson's biggest challenge yet as champion. MMA veteran Trigg is very experienced and still hungry for success. Frank who used to be a UFC fighter was released from the promotion after two straight losses against Josh Koscheck and Matt Serra. Since then "Twinkle Toes" has had 2 consecutive wins, one against Roy Neeman at Israel FC and the most recent against Welshman John Phillips at BAMMA 6. I know a lot of people are excited to see this fight and the entire BAMMA 7 event which will also feature another great bout between Efrain Escudero and Tim Radcliffe. Don't miss it guys!
Thanks,
Jay Cee.

Joe Stevenson is released by the UFC!

Hi guys,
It seems a large portion of MMA news these days is about fighters being released. The latest fighter to get the boot from the UFC is Ultimate Fighter season 2 winner Joe Stevenson. Stevenson won the event in 2005 and has been competing for the UFC ever since. Back in 2007 Joe was given a title shot against BJ Penn for the lightweight championship after stringing together wins against the likes of Yves Edwards, Kurt Pellegrino and Melvin Guillard. Unfortunately Stevenson lost his fight against BJ and had to go back to the drawing board. After the loss against Penn for the title Joe had a mixed bag of results and then hit a bad string of 4 losses in a row. These losses were to George Sotiropoulos, Mac Danzig, Danny Castillo and finally Javier Vazquez. This marked the end of Joe Stevenson's career in the UFC for now. Hopefully we will see Joe competing in some other promotion/event soon.

Thanks guys,
Jay Cee.

MMA in Australia: Fight Calendar and more...

Hi guys,

Hope you are well. Due to the popularity of my first post about the MMA scene in Australia I have decided to give you guys updates and information as much as I can. I would like to thank my friend Shannon at Fight World Cup for keeping me up to date with all of the great things that are going on in Australia.

Today I am going to tell you about an Australian website: www.fightcalendar.com.au - Now this website provides fans and people involved with MMA in Australia with the opportunity to list promotions, events and information online. This provides a great opportunity for up and coming fighters and promotions to get their name out and is also great for helping to grow the sport as a whole.

If you read my last post about MMA in Australia (Click here to view the post) then you will be familiar with the Shindo New Breed MMA Gym. To get a little bit more information on the gym and what it is all about, here is a great interview by Fight Calendar with the gyms top trainer Kerry Dunne.....

As you can see MMA has a solid base in Australia and these guys seem to be promoting the right message about the sport. It is great to see positive things happening for MMA all over the globe. I am based in the UK and mainly hear about what is happening on the US and UK scene, so it is really refreshing to see people on the other side of the planet that are on the same page and really want to help grow the reputation and popularity of the sport.

To give you even more of a feel for the scene over in Australia I have got a video of a fight between Michael Mortimer Vs Patrice Empeigne. The videos joins the action from round 5. Enjoy!.....

That is all for this update guys. I hope you enjoyed it and I will give you as much information as I can on the scene is Australia as and when I get it. Once again I would like to thank Shannon over at Fight World Cup doing big things for MMA.

Take care guys.

Jay Cee.

Jim Miller Vs Ben Henderson at UFC on Versus 5!

Hi Guys,

Jim Miller will take on Ben Henderson at UFC on Versus 5. This lightweight battle will definitely be one to watch and is very important within the division. Jim Miller is currently on an insane win streak of seven straight wins and he will look to make this his eighth. A win against Ben Henderson will put Miller in major contention for a title shot and to say the least it would be well deserved. Ben has beaten many solid fighters including the likes of up and coming hot shot Charles Oliveira and MMA veteran Gleison Tibau. Ben Henderson has beaten some tough fighters himself and is also a former WEC champion. Known for his exciting fights Henderson won his first bout in the UFC against Mark Bocek and will look to continue in winning ways with a victory over Miller. It is to hard to predict who will win this one and that is why it is a must see fight. Don't miss it guys!

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.

Mike Brown Vs Nam Phan at UFC 133

Hi Guys,

MMA veteran Mike Brown will take on Ultimate Fighter season 12 participant Nam Phan at UFC 133. I am really looking forward to this featherweight bought as reports suggest that Brown could consider retirement if he suffers a loss on the night. Mike Brown is a former WEC champion and very experienced. Unfortunately he has lost his last two fights for the UFC and we all know the danger this represents to a fighters career within the organization. This really is do or die for Mike and I am sure he will be 100% ready to go on the night. Ultimate Fighter Nam Phan has only had one fight in the UFC in which he lost an extremely controversial decision to Leonard Garcia. Many felt that Phan should have been granted the victory but it wasn't to be. Nam Phan will be looking to wipe the slate clean and establish himself within the UFC with a victory over MMA veteran and former champion Mike Brown. I can't wait!

Thanks Guys,

Jay Cee.

Shane Roller is set to take on T.J. Grant at UFC on Versus 6!

Hi guys,

Another fight set to take place at UFC on Versus 6 has been announced. Shane roller will take on T.J. Grant at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. on October 1st. This will be an exciting lightweight battle between two men looking to bounce back from loses within the UFC. Roller's last fight was against Melvin Guillard at UFC 132 in which he suffered a first round knockout. Grant is also looking to get back to winning ways after his loss against BJJ specialist Ricardo Almeida. Both Grant and Roller are very capable fighters with plenty of wins to their name, so it should be an exciting fight.

Thanks guys,

Jay Cee.
