Hi guys,
Tonight UFC on Versus 6 will take place in Washington, D.C.'s Verizon Center. It is going to be a great night with a card full of exciting fights! One I will personally be keeping an eye out for is the fight between Charlie Brenneman and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson.
Charlie literally catapulted himself through the welterweight division rankings when he defeated Rick Story who was very close himself to securing a title shot. Brenneman stepped in as a replacement and literally stole Rick's momentum. Charlie will look to take the opportunity and run with it. He is now on the path to the top but will now have to get through Anthony Johnson next.
Anthony "Rumble" Johnson has to be one of the biggest welterweights out there and it is well known that he has to cut around 50 pounds to make weight. This is something that Charlie Brenneman will have to deal with. Hopefully he doesn't find Johnson's wrestling combined with his size to much to deal with. Anthony last fought with Dan Hardy in March and scored the decision victory due to his superior wrestling ability. It was not a great fight for the fans watching but it secured his career within the industry. At the end of the day a win is a win.
There are loads of other fights on the night that will be great but I have to mention the main event title fight between Dominick Cruz and Demetrious Johnson. This bantamweight match should be fast paced and exciting. Johnson is a very solid MMA fighter and will be taking this opportunity to get his hands on the title very seriously. Cruz is more then aware that Demetrious could be a tricky customer to deal with and will have trained hard to make sure he is in the best shape and condition to go 100% in this match.
I really do not know what will happen but something gives me the feeling that Mighty Mouse could cause the upset. I have watched him fight many times and he is very difficult to fight. He can adapt to situations very well and has a good game all-round. On the other hand Cruz did not become champion for being a push over and will not easily give up his title. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Make sure you tune in guys!
Thanks,
Jay Cee.
